Injury Prevention for runners & walkers:
1. Get fitted for the appropriate shoes for your foot type. The correct amount of support can help prevent problems.
2. Use orthotic insoles to help alleviate metatarsal, arch, or heel pain. These aid by providing your foot with the additional arch support it may require. Powerstep brand works well for a lot of our customers.
3. Train appropriately: a) A slow, gradual build up. b) Do not train faster/harder than your fitness level. c) Strengthen your core. d) Strength train for overall balance. e) Be consistent!
4. Use rest when needed. Listen to your body. Use pain as your guide, if it hurts, stop!
